Lose your heart to our apartment in Großkarlbach!

Our wish is that our guests feel at home and enjoy their stay. We renovated and decorated the apartment through the spring and summer months of 2020 by ourselves with experience and a fine eye for detail. In addition to the new renovation, our guests can expect tasteful decoration and cleanliness when staying with us. The apartment is designed for two to four guests.

It is in the ground floor of our 300 year old winemaker’s estate. In-door temperatures are adaptable – warm in winter, and cool in summer.

We offer you the apartment that we would like to live in ourselves, equipped with everything that we love ourselves: starting with high ceilings, original wooden floors and historic ceramic tiles from Villeroy & Boch. and a wide assortment of antique furniture as well as a unique and well equipped French metal bed to sleep literally ‘like God in France’ – right in the middle of the Pfalz. For the ‘heart of the apartment’, the kitchen, we chose exquisite furniture from Leicht Kitchen and high quality kitchen appliances from Miele.

We purchased many lovely things for your stay:

You will especially love the tile stove which we heat up for you in winter. A Bluetooth speaker and Internet TV with Amazon Prime, Disney Plus and Netflix are also available.

Our courtyard invites you to sit and enjoy the sun. We want you to feel home here.

Miscellaneous:

Your car can be parked in our garage, and your bike has a save spot, too. There is no accommodation for pets. Smoking is prohibited inside. No parties inside or out.

Availability and Pricing

When booking, please note that we only offer the apartment for 3 or more nights. In addition, we have set two days in advance in the booking system.

Overnight rates

Low season
1 night for 1-2 people: 100.00 Euros

Mid season
1 night for 1-2 people: 110.00 Euros

Peak season
1 night for 1-2 people: 120.00 Euros

Surcharge for each additional person: 40.00 € per day / night

Discounts
from 7 days: 15% discount
from 14 days: 20% discount
from 28 days: 25% discount

Final cleaning
100.00 Euros once

Culture tax
The municipality of Großkarlbach has decided to impose a culture tax for tourists of 1.50 Euros per person and night in 2022. This applies to stays from 1 to 7 nights.

Check-in and check-out

Check-in times on the arrival day are from 15:00 to 20:00 or by arrangement
Check-out times on the departure day are from 08:00 to 11:00 or by arrangement

Deposit

200.00 Euros in cash will be taken as a damage deposit upon arrival, in case of any damaged or stolen property.
If such a situation were to occur, we would keep full or part of the deposit. We kindly ask for your cooperation in this case.

Payment modalities / Cancellation

1st deposit: 25 % of the total amount at booking by bank transfer or PayPal
2nd deposit: 25 % of the total amount until 7 days before arrival by bank transfer or PayPal
Final payment: 50 % of the total amount upon arrival by EC card or cash; we do not accept credit cards.

The prices for the overnight stay include 7 % VAT.

Should you cancel your booking, we will keep the deposit as a cancellation fee.
If there is a ban on accommodation due to official regulations (e.g. because of the Corona pandemic), you will get your deposit back.

After we were allowed to choose the type of duvet and pillow in advance, Ulla gave us a warm welcome. There was already mineral water and a bottle of wine in the refrigerator. The apartment has been completely rebuilt, is spacious and very well equipped. Everything was super clean. Ulla and Franz gave us good tips for restaurants, wineries and excursions. We felt very comfortable and would come back anytime.

We felt very comfortable with Ulla & Franz. You are very warm and attentive hosts. The apartment is furnished with a lot of love and the kitchen left nothing to be desired. We especially liked the fireplace with tiled stove. The hours by the fire with a delicious wine were unforgettable. The area offers awesome hiking a cycling locations. In particular, Ulla's tips on the wineries and the very good Palatinate gastronomy are worth gold. We would love to come back.

We were lucky to book this great accommodation over Pentecost. The apartment is really nice and beautifully furnished – nothing is missing and we felt at home from the beginning. This is also because of the very friendly hosts, Ulla and Franz! The only thing we were disappointed in was that we didn’t find the time to have a coffee or some wine with Ulla and Franz anymore. Perfect weekend getaway! The apartment is furnished with great taste and style and is very clean. We have seldom found such a well-equipped kitchen in a holiday apartment. Ulla is very committed to making the guest's time in her Sternenhof as pleasant as possible, we felt very welcome. Classy dream holiday Hi Ulla and Franz, we enjoyed our stay with you to the fullest. The apartment’s furnishing is elegant and selected with great taste. Everything was perfect: breakfast from the bakery at the station and the butcher shop across the street, lunch at “Eistal-Café” with crullers and cakes, in the evening off to “Winzergarten”. The familiar way of taking care leaves nothing to be desired. I really enjoyed the talks with Gustav. During our stay there was a great concert by “The Beat Brothers” in the courtyard. Relaxing break at the Wine Route We spent 4 days at Ulla and Franz’s in the Sternenhof, a beautifully restored old estate in a lovely winemaking village (Großkarlbach). We felt comfortable all around. The hosts are warm-hearted, helpful and cordial – we felt highly welcome. The apartment is lovingly renovated, furnished with great taste, sophisticatedly equipped and very clean. You can find everything you may need. Only a few steps away from the Sternenhof there is gourmet restaurant Karlbacher which makes gourmet hearts beat faster. Starting in Großkarlbach, you can easily discover the beautiful Palatinate. So – an absolute recommendation, we would come back every time!

Shopping service

No time to do the groceries?

Everybody knows – before travelling, there is always tons of things that want to be done and you have no time to the groceries or you forget. The trip to the apartment is long, you arrive late and tired … and the fridge is yawning.

No problem! You will always find basic equipment in our apartment, such as coffee, tea, balsamic vinegar, olive oil, salt and pepper. Additional food can freshly be delivered by us, if you want us to. An example for a purchase is the following:

  • 1 small rye-wheat bread
  • 250 grams of butter
  • 1 litre of fresh milk
  • 500 grams of whole milk yoghurt
  • 10 eggs
  • 100 grams of boiled ham
  • 100 grams of Gouda cheese
  • 2 types of homemade jam from Sternenhof (each approx. 125 grams)
  • 2 apples
  • 250 grams of tomatoes
  • 2 bottles of sparkling water, medium or classic

Just bring it up some days before your arrival!

Photo shooting

Vacation … time for a photo shooting!

Rested and relaxed – being on vacation, we do feel good and look more attractive. Take the chance and do a professional photo shooting, for example at the vineyard in Großkarlbach.

It is Ulla’s pleasure to take photos of you. While she studied in Hildesheim, photography was her practical and theoretical major. Her subjects were the daily life and documentary, portraits, artistical photography, black and white and colour laboratory. She also did the exams in photography. Since then, Ulla is photographing for music enterprises, that often contains shooting musicians, other artists and of course a lot of events. Another focus are weddings and again and again: portraits.

At the moment, she likes to take both of her reflex cameras “Canon EOS D50” and, her favourite, “Canon EOS D6 Mark II”. You have got about an hour of time to get some lovely pictures of yourself. You will get them slightly edited via USB for private use, with naming the copyright also for social media use.

Certainly we can manage spontaneously, too.

Wine tasting

You are desiring an individual wine tasting?

We present six exquisite wines or sparkling wines to you (0,1 litres) that come from this region.
In addition to that, we serve you a snack. You name your preferences and we will find a date.

Possible foci:
Red wines, rosé wines, red wines, winemaker’s sparkling wines, special winemaker’s estates,
prized wines, barrique wines or young winemaker’s wines

Possible flavours:
Brut, dry or medium dry

Fantasy has almost no boundaries in our region.
We have the right ideas for you and will be happy to put together a tailor-made wine tasting for you.
